The ESPOL Technological Journal (RTE) has been officially accepted into Scopus, one of the world's most important and recognized scientific databases. This achievement represents a significant step forward in disseminating Ecuadorian academic output and strengthens the international standing of research conducted in the country.
The indexing, officially announced in 2026, means that articles published in the journal since 2022 will be available for global consultation, increasing their visibility, impact, and citation level within the international scientific community.
This milestone is also of particular importance to CEDIA and its academic ecosystem, as the scientific articles presented at TICEC 2022, the International Congress on Information and Communication Technologies organized by the Corporation, and published in the ESPOL Technology Journal, will now be indexed and cited in Scopus. This will allow the research developed within the framework of the congress to significantly increase its visibility, reach, and impact within the international scientific community.
RTE thus becomes the first institutional journal of ESPOL to achieve this indexing, the result of a sustained process of editorial strengthening initiated in 2019, which included the technological modernization of the publication, the optimization of peer review processes and the consolidation of an editorial team with an international projection.
For CEDIA, this news also represents an opportunity to strengthen the visibility of the research presented at TICEC, one of Ecuador's most important forums for scientific and technological exchange. The inclusion of these articles in Scopus will foster new academic collaborations, expand international research networks, and generate a greater scientific impact for the work carried out by Ecuadorian researchers.
In addition to international recognition, indexing directly benefits students, teachers, and researchers, who will have a wider platform for disseminating their work and scientific results.
In this context, CEDIA also invites the academic and scientific community to participate in TICEC 2026, whose 14th edition will be held on October 15 and 16 at Indoamérica University. The ESPOL Technological Journal will commemorate its 50th anniversary in June 2026, consolidating itself as an open space for the dissemination of scientific knowledge and the promotion of research with academic, social and productive impact.
This achievement strengthens the commitment of Ecuadorian higher education institutions and organizations like CEDIA to promote a more visible, connected, and globally focused science.
