Award event for the call for projects "Circular Challenges"

15 winning teams were recognized for their outstanding proposals

On Thursday, July 28 of this year, the Award Event of the multilateral project called Circular Challenges was held in Auditorium 2 of UDLAPARK, located in the Metropolitan District of Quito, which was launched last month of March. This event had the distinguished presence of the authorities corresponding to the three co-organizing organizations: the Ecuadorian Corporation for the Development of Research and the Academy - CEDIA , the German Cooperation - GIZ and the Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade, Investment and Fishing – MPCEIP.

The representatives of these three institutions were responsible for awarding recognition medals to the best initiatives that participated in this first national contest for sustainable projects.

Circular Challenges is the first call for innovation dedicated to the Circular Economy. It has the alliance of 36 media partners, which allowed the call to have a national scope; and that more than 245 people participate in this initiative that promotes change in the ways of producing and consuming, protecting and promoting the care and responsible use of non-renewable natural resources.

The representatives of the recognized projects are also receiving, from the organizers, weeks of incubation, financing links, connections with the productive sector, articulation for the development of prototypes, training for access to funds, among other prizes that will allow them to materialize their successful project."

The event had around 120 in-person attendees belonging to multiple academic, public, private and NGO organizations, in addition to the presence of the 15 winning teams of the four sub-components of the Circular Challenges initiative.
