Ecuador's Open Access Repository Network (rraae®)

The RRAAE is a web platform that compiles information from the digital repositories of member institutions and aggregates it into a global index to facilitate access to the academic work of all universities in Ecuador. This benefit helps to increase the visibility of research conducted at these institutions and, at the same time, provides students, faculty, and researchers with access to a user-friendly platform.

How does it work?

Universities maintain digital repositories that operate using the DSpace platform. The RRAAE (Spanish Network of Academic and Academic Repositories) collects weekly information from these repositories to index them on its website.

For this network to collect information, the repositories must be of high quality and comply with globally recognized standards.

Benefits:

  1. It makes visible the academic production of Ecuadorian universities at the national and international level.
  2. Any person or organization can easily access the information on the platform.
  3. It provides the metadata to find academic works, that is, it redirects the user to the main page of the work for more information.
