It is a computer security benefit that uses a public IP address to be the target of a computer attack. This service is preventive, since it allows a study of possible threats and seeks to reinforce the security of institutions to avoid real attacks.

How does it work?

A Honeypot is designed to attract attacks such as the honeypot to bees (potential attackers), in order to analyze which port they attack, how they work and the tools used by the attackers.

Benefits:

  1. It prevents a real computer attack, because it allows analyzing the procedures and techniques used by the attackers.
  2. Generate statistics, develop policies or improvement actions to strengthen member security systems.
