The National Academic Invention Fair is a CEDIA initiative (since 2020) aimed at showcasing and recognizing the work of academic inventors, managers, and institutions in the country that have developed inventions with protection standards, primarily through patents and utility models. It takes place within the framework of CEDIA's IGNOVA event.
How does it work?
The National Academic Invention Fair is developed through an annual call for entries that generally includes the following stages:
- Application: registration and uploading of information/documentation required by the participants.
- Formal evaluation: verification of requirements and, where appropriate, instance of rectification.
- Background evaluation: evaluation by blind peers of specialists, with assignment of a score for the selection of winners.
- Awards: recognition of the winners during the CEDIAIGNOVA event.

Benefits:
Participants receive institutional recognition for their participation. Winners, depending on the category, receive awards and benefits designed to raise the profile of their invention or career, which may include:
- Commemorative awards and certificates.
- Support products to strengthen the projection of the invention (e.g., surveillance exercises and/or inputs to support dissemination).
- Visibility and dissemination spaces in institutional channels linked to CEDIA and its initiatives.
