Network of Open Access Repositories of Ecuador (RRAAE)

The RRAAE is a web platform that collects information from the digital repositories of the member institutions and brings them together in a global index to facilitate access to the academic works of all the universities in Ecuador. This benefit helps to make the research work carried out in the institutions visible and, at the same time, gives students, teachers and researchers access to a friendly platform.

How does it work?

The universities have a digital repository that works with the DSpace tool.

The RRAAE collects weekly information from these repositories to locate them in the web page index. For this network to harvest the information, the repository must be of quality and comply with regulations that are managed worldwide.

Benefits:

  1. It makes visible the academic production of Ecuadorian universities at a national and international level.
  2. Any person or organization can easily access the information on the platform.
  3. It provides the metadata to find the academic works, that is, it redirects the user to the main page of the work for more information.
