A series of activities are planned within the agenda of the Copernicus Program in Latin America

The Copernicus program provides unprecedented volumes of Earth observation data that are freely accessible. Big data collected by Sentinel missions collects more than 16TB per day. These data can be used for a large number of value-added applications and derived services. In November 2021, a technical dialogue on security issues was held led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Delegation of the European Union.

During this dialogue, access to the Copernicus satellite network received great interest and was established as a priority area for follow-up. In this context, the Ecuadorian Corporation for the Development of Research and the CEDIA Academy, invited institutions that are executing consistent actions and in line with the Copernicus project, in this sense, on July 14, the first socialization meeting of the program.
