CEDIA and the Delegation of the European Union

In an effort to shield the port infrastructure of Ecuador in the face of growing cyberamezas, the European Union, CEDIA and the Ecuadorian government developed a workshop specialized in Maritime Digital Security. The initiative, which is part of a strategic collaboration between both blocks, seeks to strengthen the response capacity of national institutions against cyber attacks that may compromise international security and trade.

The training was in charge of Sergio Bryton and José Callero, experts in maritime cybersecurity of the EU Cybernet Expert Pool, and was co -organized by CEDIA and the Delegation of the European Union in Ecuador. During the workshop, recent studies were presented on cyber -linges in port environments and strategies for the construction of more resilient security systems were discussed.

This meeting is part of the commitments assumed by the EU at the technical security tables, which take projects and studies implemented in recent months. In addition, it is aligned with regional programs such as the US Cybernet, designed to strengthen the capacities of partner countries in the prevention and mitigation of digital risks.

The relationship between Ecuador and the EU in terms of safety cooperation has been key in recent years, and this workshop reaffirms mutual commitment to build a safer digital ecosystem. In a context where cyber threats evolve rapidly, provide the authorities with advanced tools and specialized knowledge becomes a priority to guarantee the protection of port operations and, by extension, the stability of commerce and the economy.
