CEDIA and the UTPL promoted innovation in the XII edition of TICEC 2024

150 people participated in the twelfth edition of the Congress.

TICEC 2024

Since its creation in 2013, the International Congress of Information and Communication Technologies – TICEC has become a benchmark in Ecuador for the exchange of knowledge and the promotion of scientific culture. In its twelfth edition, CEDIA co-organized the Congress with the Private Technical University of Loja – UTPL.

A total of 150 people, including researchers, students and specialists, participated from October 16 to 18 in this new edition. Likewise, the TICEC received more than 100 contributions in both the technical and scientific tracks, with articles from countries such as Brazil, Spain, the United States and Ecuador. The contributions were subjected to a rigorous double blind selection process, with the support of 154 international reviewers from 32 countries. As a result, 24 articles were accepted in the Scientific Track and 14 in the Technical Track, reflecting an acceptance percentage of 32% and 42%, respectively.

The TICEC 2024 agenda included the participation of six keynote speakers and seven workshops-tutorials, taught by experts from academia and the technology industry. In addition, the event hosted the R+D+i Workshop, where the results of projects funded by CEDIA were presented, highlighting the work of local researchers within the framework of the R+D+i Fund.

A highlight this year is the publication of scientific papers in a special volume of Springer's Communications in Computer and Information Science, indexed in Scopus. With more than 16,000 downloads globally in previous editions, the visibility of TICEC continues to grow significantly. For its part, the articles from the Technical Track will be published in the RTE ESPOL magazine, in a special issue titled Current Trends in ICT and its Impact on Society: Contributions of TICEC 2024 , which also has outstanding indexing.

The twelfth edition became a space where technology professionals could learn about the latest trends in their area and develop proposals with international standards, which contributes significantly to improving the quality of scientific publications in the field of ICT in Ecuador.
