CEDIA became the coordinating point for technical advice for the Horizon Europe Programme

This program funds transnational collaboration projects.

Horizon Europe is the European Union's framework program for research and innovation, which has allocated a budget of 95.517 billion euros for the period 2021-2027 through various calls for funding and grants, most of which are competitive.

This program funds transnational collaboration projects that include activities such as research, technological development, demonstration and innovation, as well as horizontal activities supporting innovation; whose purpose is to achieve a scientific, technological, economic and social impact of EU investments in R&D.

This year, CEDIA has been integrated not only as one of the National Contact Points (NCP) but also as the technical coordinator of the program, working hand in hand with Senscyt in its capacity as the governing body of public policy on higher education.

Through this role, CEDIA adopts the mission of advising universities regarding the dissemination, promotion, technical support and accompaniment in the processes of linking the Higher Education Institutions that are members of CEDIA, for each of the calls contemplated within the European funding program.

This role aims to increase the participation of Ecuadorian higher education institutions in external funding programs and strengthen collaborative work among international research groups.
