This initiative seeks to promote and implement actions for the responsible and ethical use of AI.
CEDIA, in conjunction with the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Society – MINTEL, the Inter-American Development Bank – IDB, USAID and Datalat, is working on building a secure Artificial Intelligence ecosystem in Ecuador.
This initiative, aligned with CEDIA's strategic lines, seeks to bring together institutions from various sectors to promote and implement actions that drive development and territorial impact through the responsible and ethical use of AI.
The workshop "Towards the Construction of a Safe AI Ecosystem in Ecuador" was a first step in this process, bringing together representatives from the academic, governmental and civil society sectors to exchange experiences, identify needs and lay the foundations for the development of a comprehensive public policy on AI.
Key topics covered during the workshop included:
- Governance : establishing regulatory and ethical frameworks for the use of AI.
- Prevention : development of mechanisms to mitigate the risks associated with AI.
- Training : strengthening the capacities of Ecuadorians in the responsible use of AI.
- Human talent : promoting the training of professionals specialized in AI.
- Infrastructure : development of the technological infrastructure necessary for the deployment of AI.
- Software and processes : implementation of tools and methodologies for the development and safe use of AI.
CEDIA reaffirms its commitment to contribute to building a sustainable and inclusive technological future for Ecuador, leveraging the potential of AI to drive development and territorial impact for the benefit of all Ecuadorians.
