CEDIA expands its Technological Surveillance and Competitive Intelligence service

For the first time, this service will be available to businesses.

Technological Surveillance and Competitive Intelligence (VTIC) is an activity that allows universities and companies to deploy their scientific and technological work, through the observation and frequent and systematic analysis of the environment to identify threats and development opportunities.

CEDIA, through its Innovation and Technology Transfer (ITT) team, has led this journey. Since 2019, its efforts have focused on two initial components:

1. Promoting a culture of ICT.

2. The cross-cutting application of VTIC in research and innovation projects.

Thus, the corporation's first step was to create an interactive digital space with new knowledge for R&D&I. This led to the birth of CONNECT, Ecuador's first technology monitoring and transfer journal. Its latest, twelfth edition examines the plastics sector; the next edition will analyze hemp, with a special focus on the regulations that companies and entrepreneurs must navigate.

Over the years, CEDIA has transformed VTIC into a fundamental tool for consolidating new innovation scenarios based on national experiences. Furthermore, the service has established itself in the financial and Fintech sectors, thanks to the results achieved by implementing VTIC at a major financial institution in the country, providing key and strategic information for innovation.

Thanks to these results, this service will be available for the first time to interested companies. CEDIA specialists will be able to align the VTIC (Virtual Technology Innovation Center) with the needs of multidisciplinary projects to explore technological solutions developed around the world.
