As part of the SFF – CIRCULAR ECONOMY “Promotion of Circular Economy in Ecuador: Foundations for the promotion of an alternative development model”, CEDIA together with GIZ and the Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade, Investments and Fisheries, through the execution of innovation challenges, aims to support the innovation ecosystem to adopt the circular economy and facilitate the implementation of circular strategies.
The initiative will begin in February 2022 and consists of the following subcomponents:
1: Municipal Social Innovation Challenge Subcomponent
2: Private Companies Open Innovation Challenge Subcomponent

The call for proposals aims to promote projects that contribute to the country's sustainable development through initiatives framed within the circular economy. These initiatives will be carried out by Decentralized Autonomous Governments (GADs), private companies, and startups, through the development of circular innovation challenges and programs. These programs will bring together teams of students, university professors, entrepreneurs, and the general public. CEDIA will provide training for participants and offer support to prepare and strengthen the projects. Applications will be submitted through the EasyChair platform.
