In a milestone for research and development in Ecuador, CEDIA , Red Clara and the European Union in Ecuador, in collaboration with the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral and the Universidad San Francisco de Quito, achieved the deployment of the Copernicus Academy in the country . This initiative, which seeks to promote the use of Earth observation data for informed decision making, achieved massive participation from the Ecuadorian scientific and academic community.
With the holding of a workshop on the use and application of Copernicus, in which 135 professionals from various disciplines participated, a series of activities began that seek to train Ecuadorian professionals in the use of this tool. In addition, a National Committee was formed with the participation of more than 70 representatives and experts from universities, public and private institutions who will be in charge of promoting the implementation of Copernicus in Ecuador and coordinating future actions.
With the creation of the Copernicus Ecuador Academy, it is expected to strengthen the country's research and development capacity, improve the management of natural resources and contribute to the construction of a more sustainable future.
