The Ecuadorian Corporation for the Development of Research and Academia - CEDIA , given the global situation triggered by COVID-19, the recommendations issued by the World Health Organization and the Government provisions implemented; makes its technological contingent available to the relevant organizations for the implementation of a virtual medical consultation platform.

The project started as a pilot plan with the Municipality of Cuenca through its Municipal Hospital for Women and Children, with a staff of 12 doctors, currently more than 30 health professionals working from Monday to Sunday in shifts and days of 8 hours.

We are currently linked with 6 more institutions: the Technical University of the North - UTN, the Technical University of Ambato - UTA, the Organization for Attention to Psychological Emergencies - ORGAEPSI and the Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion and this week the Central University of the Ecuador – UCE; These allied institutions have allowed around 300 professionals to consult on our platform, more than 1,500 medical orientations have been carried out and excellent feedback has been received from users.

The platform that works through the website www.telesalud.ec receives patients from various cities around our country and its spectrum of care has been expanded; Thus, not only are patients suspected of COVID-19 currently connected, but there are also some specific medical specialties, as well as psychological and nutritional care, and since the previous week there has been Legal Advice for cases of Domestic Violence that are have been triggered by the current situation.
