CEDIA present at the Erasmus+ Regional Week for Latin America and the Caribbean

CEDIA became the National Focal Point of Ecuador.

The Executive Agency for Education and Culture of the European Union – EACEA, in collaboration with the Delegation of the European Union in Panama, developed the Erasmus+ Regional Week for Latin America and the Caribbean – LAC. The event, which took place from November 20 to 23, 2023 in Panama, brought together 11 representatives of the National Focal Points of the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.

The main purpose of the event was to facilitate a strategic meeting between National Focal Points (NFPs), providing training and exchange sessions on best practices for promotion and participation in the Erasmus+ programme.

In addition, the creation of international cooperation networks was encouraged, promoting collaboration between educational institutions and organizations in the region.

Main objectives:

  • Meeting of National Focal Points: representatives of the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean met to strengthen cooperation and share experiences in the implementation of the Erasmus+ program.
  • Training and Exchange: Specific sessions were held to train participants on best practices to promote the Erasmus+ program in the region, highlighting opportunities for education, training, youth and sport.
  • Creation of International Cooperation Networks: the event provided a space to establish contacts and collaborations between representatives of the countries, promoting the creation of international cooperation networks.
  • Exploring Opportunities: Participants explored the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ Program for the academic community of the LAC region, seeking to strengthen the presence and participation of the region in this large-scale program.

CEDIA , as the National Focal Point of Ecuador, played a crucial role in this event. Their participation had the main objective of training in the Erasmus+ program and establishing strategic alliances with the LAC Network and the European Cooperation Networks. This will promote the educational, professional and personal development of the Ecuadorian educational community, in the fields of education, training, youth and sports, both within Europe and outside its territory.

The event was a significant step towards the consolidation of international collaboration in the educational and training field, strengthening ties between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean.
