The Corporation participated in the international event along with 49 delegates from 17 countries
Science and public policy came together at the international event "Science for Public Policy: Strategies for Scientific Diplomacy and Scientific Advice," which brought together 49 delegates from 17 Ibero-American countries from April 8 to 11. The event was organized by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT), the Uruguayan Agency for International Cooperation (AUCI), and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).
Representing Ecuador, CEDIA actively participated in this collective building space, which addressed two main axes: strengthening scientific advice for public decision-making and promoting science diplomacy as a tool for international relations.
During the sessions, experiences, methodologies, and best practices for integrating scientific knowledge into policymaking were shared, along with reflections on the strategic role of science in the regional context. In addition, cross-cutting roundtables were held to analyze how science can contribute more broadly to building inclusive and sustainable policies.
With its participation, CEDIA reaffirms its commitment to scientific diplomacy as an engine of cooperation, evidence-based decision-making, and a driver of sustainable development in Ecuador and the region.
