Congratulations to the researchers and teachers of IKIAM

The works selected from Ecuador for the 5th Latin American e-Science Meeting within the framework of TICAL2021 belong to researchers from IKIAM.

After the closing of the calls for proposals and a month dedicated to the evaluation of the proposals received, the evaluation and program committees of the TICAL2021 Conference and the 5th Latin American e-Science Meeting announced, this Thursday, July 1, the list of works selected to be presented in the parallel sessions of the events, which will be held virtually and free of charge between August 30 and September 2.

In total, the calls for papers, which opened in February, received 70 submissions, of which 23 were selected for presentation: 17 at the TICAL Conference and six at the e-Science Meeting. Colombia (5) and Mexico (4) had the most submissions. The list also includes papers from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, and Spain.

The 10 best works (chosen jointly from the works received by both calls) will receive support with a maximum of USD$300* (three hundred US dollars) per work and only once, to be used for one of the following items:

• A relevant international congress or conference in their field that promotes networking. The event must be virtual (online) and take place between October 2021 and August 2022. If the cost of the event exceeds the established support amount, the difference must be covered by the author(s) of the work.
• Participation in a specialized online course.
• Acquisition of technical reference materials.
• Certification exam.
