Connecting minds, transforming realities

The Open Innovation Workshop is the prelude to the TICAL 2025 Conference.

In an era where innovation sets the pace of technological, economic, and social development, understanding its dynamics and methodologies is no longer an option, but a necessity. As CAF—Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean—reminds us, innovation ecosystems are key to sustainable growth: environments where governments, universities, businesses, and scientific and technological communities converge.

In that spirit, the Open Innovation Workshop will be held as a prelude to the TICAL 2025 Conference, a space that will encourage action rather than theory. It will be a practical and collaborative day connecting participants with stakeholders in Costa Rica's innovation ecosystem, serving as a starting point for dialogue on how to transform ideas into real solutions.

CEDIA will actively participate in this event, not only with institutional presentations, but also by leading a joint workshop with other national networks and international institutions. Its contribution reaffirms Ecuador's commitment to creating collaborative environments that promote research, science, and technology in the region. Furthermore, CEDIA will support the organization of the workshop, contributing its expertise in open innovation methodologies and in fostering collaboration between academia and the productive sectors.

The workshop is a practical immersion in the innovation ecosystem, where participants will be able to:

  • Connect with key players at the national and international levels.
  • Learn about pre-incubation methodologies implemented by the RedCLARA Innovation Hub.
  • Discover how National Research and Education Networks (NRENs), together with institutions, researchers and academics, manage to transform knowledge into impact.
  • Participate in a multidisciplinary environment that stimulates creative and disruptive thinking.

The workshop will take place on November 10, 2025, in Costa Rica. All registration information can be found at the following link: https://eventos.redclara.net/event/1179/overview
