Ecuador has representatives at the World Inventions Fair in Taiwan

UTPL receives a Gold Medal for its research project.

On October 13 in Taiwan, the Taipei International Invention Show 2022 & Technomart was developed, an event in which the most representative inventions in the scientific, technological and innovative sector are presented annually worldwide.

In this event, Ecuador had the participation of the professor of the Private Technical University of Loja (UTPL) Dr. María Gabriela Punín and María José Valarezo, a student of the Chemical Engineering degree at UTPL, who presented their research project developed based on biopolymers (plastic) from cassava starch and banana peel, the same one that participated in the Inorganic Chemistry Category (Inorganic Chemistry) and was the winner of a Gold medal and international recognition thanks for his scientific contribution.

Additionally, prior to participating in the Inventions Fair in Taiwan, Dr. María Gabriela Punín and María José Valarezo participated in the FONDO DIVULGA call organized by the Ecuadorian Corporation for the Development of Research and Academia ( CEDIA ), which Its purpose is to finance Ecuadorian researchers to present their research results in high-impact Congresses or Fairs worldwide.

CEDIA wishes to extend its congratulations to Dr. María Gabriela Punín and María José Valarezo, UTPL representatives for their hard work, thank you for allowing Ecuadorian science to reach the highest international levels.
