Open call: Spider project promotes ideas to expand the use of the beautiful network

The Spider project , led by Supporting the Policy Dialogue on Digital Transformion in Latin America and in collaboration with Redclara , has opened a call to receive proposals that take advantage of the infrastructure of the Bella Network , an advanced connectivity network that facilitates academic and scientific collaboration between Latin America and Europe.

CEDIA , as part of the Spider Project, shares this strategic opportunity aimed at institutions, networks and organizations committed to the use of digital technologies to address social, educational and environmental challenges in the region.

Who can participate?
The call is open to:

  • Higher education institutions and research centers,
  • National Research and Education Networks (NRENS),
  • Civil society organizations,
  • Local governments and NGOs.

Proposals will be received that explores new ways to take advantage of the connectivity of the Bella network to contribute to regional development from an inclusive, digital and sustainable perspective.

Thematic axes of the call
The projects and ideas must be framed in at least one of the following four strategic axes:

  1. Digital transformation for education
    Solutions that use connectivity to expand access, improve educational quality or facilitate collaborative learning at the regional level.
  2. Intelligent and sustainable cities
    that use digital technologies to improve urban services, environmental sustainability or local governance.
  3. Reduction of the digital gap
    proposals that promote the digital inclusion of historically disconnected or vulnerable communities.
  4. Digital government and citizen participation
    ideas that strengthen democratic processes, transparency and citizen participation through digital tools.
