Event that seeks to generate spaces for discussion and solutions to strengthen access to information
In recent years, Ecuadorian educational institutions have made great efforts to provide access to high-level scientific academic information to students, teachers, and researchers. However, the limitation in institutional budgets prevents expanding these resources. For this reason, CEDIA and its member institutions, in collaboration with organizations such as SENESCY, have worked on projects such as LA REFERENCIA internationally, the Network of Open Access Repositories of Ecuador (RRAAE), the Semantic Repository of Ecuadorian Researchers ( REDI) that contribute to access to information, additionally the institutions have worked on the formation, implementation and standardization of institutional repositories, digital magazines among others at the national level, since the key aspect to improve the quality of scientific production in Ecuador It is the access to digital libraries in different branches of knowledge that are of interest to the members of the Ecuadorian academy.
Through this meeting, it is intended to promote scientific production, and generate activities related to the effective use of digital repositories, digital journals as a contribution to research, and the link between researchers and libraries in institutions.
The main presentations that will participate in this Meeting will be in charge of several organizations from Latin America and Europe, such as La Referencia, OPENAIRE, Universidad Nacional de Chile, Universidad Nacional de Costar Rica, which have experience and participation regarding the quality of scientific information that is managed worldwide.
