Avante Fund promotes a project that revitalizes fiber weaving trades and techniques

The project focuses on the artisan branch of vegetable fiber weaving due to its representativeness in different areas of the country.

Residence between fibers: revitalization and permanence, is one of the winning projects of the CEDIA Avante Fund for the year 2022, which implements a space for training and exchange of knowledge and experiences between teachers, students, artisans and artisans for the integration between techniques, knowledge and expressions of the various craft trades and the formal, functional and technological aspects of the field of design, aesthetic currents and artistic disciplines.

This March 13, the face-to-face phase of the workshops began with the scholarship holders and the promoters of the project: University of Cuenca in coordination with the University of the Arts, the Inter-American Center for Crafts and Popular Arts, CIDAP and the Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture (OEI).

This space for training and exchange allows the implementation and direction of different creative projects that incorporate the "handmade" element as added value.
