III edition of the Intellectual Property week

This year the theme "Intellectual Property and youth: Innovating for a better future 2022" was presented.

CEDIA , as every year, once again joins the worldwide celebration of Intellectual Property Day. Which constitutes an exceptional meeting opportunity for those interested in intellectual property (IP) around the world.

For this edition, the theme was raised: “Intellectual Property and youth: Innovating for a better future 2022”, within the framework of this celebration, we have prepared a broad agenda with recognized national and international exhibitors, which aims to promote a culture of recording and protecting IDi results. Based on this premise, CEDIA generates and promotes spaces for innovation, technological and knowledge transfer, which are part of our fundamental pillars of action.

In this context, the area of ​​Innovation and Technology Transfer has developed a series of programs with the aim of strengthening the Knowledge Management capacities of CEDIA member institutions, with a view to the efficient transfer of research results, through financing. registrations in any category of Intellectual Property either to obtain Industrial Property rights or Copyright.

Respect for authorship and recording of results will be priority issues for our organization, as well as permanent support for the transfer of knowledge and the generation of spaces that promote a culture of innovation.

After the execution of this national event, we can mention that we had important strategic allies such as: The Private Technical University of Loja - UTPL and the National Service of Intellectual Rights - SENADI, additionally:

  This year, there were 10 keynote talks
• A total of 625 participants in the different events of the Intellectual Property Week
• 57 applications at the National Invention Fair, of which 50 inventions from different institutions were accepted
• A total number of 104 participating inventors were registered at the national level, of which 78 are men and 26 are women
• In the young inventors category, 13 participants participated

The award categories this year were:
• Best Academic Invention
• Best Innovative Invention
• Best Academic Inventors
• Best Young Inventors
• Best Academic Managers
• Outstanding Academic Organization

Based on these indicators, we can conclude that the third edition of the Intellectual Property Week has been a success, thanks to the active participation and growing awareness of the importance of Intellectual Property in the Ecuadorian academy and productive sector.
