Integration of new technologies for the design of cognitive solutions in assisted living environments for older adults: evaluation of attention and memory areas

General Objective: Integrate new technologies for the design of cognitive solutions in assisted living environments for older adults: evaluation of attention and memory areas.

Specific objectives

  • Establish the state of the art related to Assisted Living Environments, with emphasis on solutions aimed at evaluating and providing cognitive support to older adults.
  • Select the cognitive measurement instruments (memory, attention, sequencing and classification) to be used during the project.
  • Analyze the requirements from the neuropsychological and technological point of view that allow creating environments and solutions conducive to cognitive improvement. Likewise, to establish the aspects of the environment that will be considered when designing the environments and the evaluation and cognitive support solutions for the elderly.
  • Enrich the solutions created with forms of human-computer interaction (HCI) appropriate to the age and characteristics of the elderly.
  • Extract knowledge from the captured data considering the requirements of the health personnel of the elderly, based on the selection of variables carefully studied by psychologists and domain experts, members of the project.
