Platform for Integration, Publication and Integrated Consultation of Bibliographic Resources on the Semantic Web

General Objective: The main objective of this project is the analysis, generation and publication of Linked Data from the libraries of the participating institutions, as well as the design and implementation of a framework that allows unified access centered on the user, anywhere. and at any time.

To achieve this, the project will create a platform, based on Web services technologies, Semantic Web, integration of information based on ontologies and libraries that allow creating friendly interfaces.

Specific objectives:

Objective 1. Development of a platform that supports applications based on bibliographic information, as well as automating the process of generating semantic information.

  • Analysis of the different data sources existing in the libraries of the participating universities.
  • Analysis and selection of existing ontological models in the bibliographic domain.
  • Generation and publication of Linked Data of the libraries participating in the project.
  • Linking between the data generated in the libraries participating in the project.
  • Linking with external repositories of the Data Web.
  • Execution of federated queries between the Linked Data repositories created

Objective 2. Development of a client application that allows unified access to the platform of each participating library. The application will provide the following functionalities:

  • Access to services and resources using Web interfaces. The resources and services will be: Practical information based on the context: books, authors, etc.
  • Services based on the context of the users such as: faculty, career, cycle, etc.
  • Direct access to semantic repositories through query languages.

Objective 3. Allow the storage of historical information of the queries executed in each library. This will allow, in a second stage of the project, to carry out information analysis, as well as the execution of recommendation algorithms.
