This update has been available since February 19th.
In late 2020, Red Hat announced a change of direction for its CentOS clone system, which meant the end of support for version 8 by the end of 2021. Several initiatives emerged to fill the void left by CentOS, but more than that, to address the major concerns of millions of administrators around the world who would be left without options by the end of 2021. One of these alternatives is AlmaLinux, a 1:1 compatible operating system with Red Hat's, produced and funded by CloudLinux.
Since Friday, February 19th, our Mirror OSS officially includes the latest versions of AlmaLinux, contributing to the peace of mind of those millions of administrators who now have a fully viable, free and open-source option for their systems, servers and services with CentOS 8.
