LACNIC approves allocation of IP resources for CEDIA members

This milestone is remarkable considering that IPV4 is exhausted in Latin America

Thanks to CEDIA 's efforts, LACNIC has approved the allocation of its own IP resources for the Milagro State University and the Bolivar State University. These resources comprise an IPv4 block (/24), an IPv6 block (/48), and an ASN. Universities will receive these resources at no additional cost. These resources are important since they allow Higher Education Institutions to enhance their presence on the Internet and Advanced Network, as well as provide autonomy to their connectivity. This milestone is very important, especially at this time when the IPv4 resource has already been exhausted throughout the Latin American region.
