Multispectral and Radar Remote Sensing – High Spatial and Temporal Resolution for the Calculation of Water Volumes in the Ecuadorian Andean Zone

General Objective: Develop a technique based on a mathematical model for the calculation of water volumes in the Ecuadorian Andean zone using multispectral remote sensing and radar - high spatial and temporal resolution.

Specific objectives:

  • High spatial resolution analysis of vegetation in the study area (2005 – 2010).
  • Geospatial identification of high temporal resolution of the humidity cycle and water bodies.
  • Construction of a digital elevation model (DEM) of the study area.

Participants:

  • UNACH: Information Celso Recalde
  • ESPE: Eng. Oswaldo Padilla
  • UTA: Mr. Francisco Chávez

Awarded budget: $30000
