Within the framework of Intellectual Property Week, CEDIA gave way to the National Fair of Academic Inventions, which aims to make visible and recognize the work of academic inventors in the country, who have worked on scientific proposals that comply with protection standards. through the category of patents and utility models (small patents) in intellectual property.

The Fair had several categories from which the best inventors and inventions were selected to recognize the work done.

1. Best Academic Inventor: Benito Eduardo Valarezo Valdez, PhD.
2. Best Academic Inventor: Diana Elizabeth Guaya Caraguay, PhD.
3. Best Academic Manager: From the Private Technical University of Loja, represented by the academic manager Mauricio Eguiguren
4. Best Academic Manager: VICE-RECTOR'S OFFICE OF RESEARCH of the Salesian Polytechnic University, managers Belén Soriano and Nataly Campos
