New Methods and Technologies to Strengthen Citizen Participation in Case of Early Warnings, Strengthening IDE Red CEDIA

General Objective: Strengthening and Consolidation of the Ecuadorian Group for the Experimental and Theoretical Study of Nanosystems GETNano formed by UTPL-EPN-USFQ-ESPOCH, within the framework of the 4th call Strengthen the IDE Red CEDIA AT initiative, through methods and use of new CEDIA of data collection, to promote citizen participation and contribute to the management of natural disasters.

Specific objectives:

  • Consolidate and strengthen the Research Community between the three Universities of this project.
  • Study the forms of citizen participation with technological prototype platforms in natural disaster scenarios.
  • Find ways to integrate mobile platforms (Android) to upload scenes of natural disasters online (upload) and serve as early warning triggers.
  • Investigate forms of semantic enrichment in the geospatial information integrated in the IDE.
  • Improve the IDE platform in its functionality, usability and efficiency so that it is a valid tool in cases of natural disasters where speed of reaction is necessary.
  • Generate a prototype for displaying awareness and early warning information integrated into IDE Red CEDIA .
  • Promote the signing of agreements and establishment of procedures with the official institutions that manage natural disasters in the three cities.
  • Carry out complementary training, dissemination and dissemination activities.
