CEDIA launches the CONNECT Funds to the main academic authorities of Ecuadorian HEIs
With the objective of celebrating World Intellectual Property Day, the Ecuadorian Corporation for the Development of Research and the Academy ( CEDIA ) and the National Service of Intellectual Rights (SENADI), within the framework of the events of the World Organization of Intellectual Property
On January 27, the Ecuadorian Corporation for Research Development and the CEDIA Academy launched the CONNECT Competitive Funds as part of the NEXT by CEDIA program.
The virtual event included the participation of rectors, vice rectors, technology directors, researchers and teachers from our member institutions, who participated in the presentation of the Launch of the CONNECT Funds, by our Executive Director, Eng. Juan Pablo Carvallo, PhD. Nearly 385 attendees were part of this launch event, where the new funds, updates and improvements that have been made to CEDIA 's competitive funds for the 2022 period were announced, as well as a detailed description of its operating mechanism.
The launch of NEXT Funds by CEDIA , whose main objective is to support basic scientific research, the assessment and transfer of knowledge, the connection with society and internationalization, for this, CEDIA has categorized the funds into three types: Funds of Knowledge such as the Divulga, Avante and Ponente Fund, IDi Funds with 4 main trends, technological trends, territorial vocation, health or education and creative industries and finally the Transfer funds such as the 1a1 Fund, the Registra Fund and the Accelera Fund.
Additionally, as part of the launch, we had the participation of two experts who have worked to strengthen the culture of research and innovation with a focus on financing for STI (Science, Technology and Innovation) activities/projects, we had the presence of César Ruiz, Executive Director of the Tecnnova UEE Corporation in Colombia and Néstor Roca, APTA Entrepreneurship Coordinator in Chile, who shared their knowledge and experience on financing STI activities/projects in their respective countries.
