SENESCYT and CEDIA renew their commitment to open science in Ecuador

This renewal promotes open access to knowledge and inter-institutional collaboration.

SENESCYT and CEDIA

The Ecuadorian Corporation for the Development of Research and Academia – CEDIA and the Secretariat of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation SENESCYT renewed their cooperation agreement, reaffirming their joint commitment to strengthen the open science ecosystem in Ecuador.

This renewal consolidates a strategic alliance that promotes open access to knowledge, the visibility of national scientific output, and inter-institutional collaboration. Among the main achievements of this expansion is the continued support of the Ecuadorian Open Access Repository Network (RRAAE), officially recognized by SENESCYT as the national node for the international LA Referencia project, which integrates open access networks in Latin America.

With this initiative, Ecuador reinforces its presence in regional and international scientific settings, promoting the democratization of knowledge and strengthening the foundations for a more inclusive, transparent and collaborative science.

The renewal of the agreement also represents an endorsement of CEDIA 's commitment to the academic, technological and scientific development of the country, supporting initiatives that allow the knowledge generated in higher education institutions to be accessible to all of society.
