The event took place from April 10 to 12 and around 1,500 professionals from 30 countries participated.
Within the framework of international cybersecurity events, staff from CEDIA 's security operations and incident response center team - SOC-CSIRT participated in the IV STIC Conference and the RootedCON Panama Chapter Congress. This outstanding meeting was sponsored by institutions in the field of cybersecurity, such as the National Cryptological Center, the National Cybersecurity Institute and the National Authority for Government Innovation.
Cybersecurity specialists, Badi Quinteros and Paul Astudillo, from SOC-CSIRT, together with the Undersecretary of Electronic Government and Civil Registry of Ecuador, and delegates from the Ministry of Telecommunications and Ecu-CERT, created a space conducive to the exchange of experiences and the analysis of effective strategies in cyber risk management.
The meetings held during the event evidenced the need to promote cooperation and coordination between relevant actors in the public and private sectors of Ibero-America to address emerging challenges in cybersecurity in Ecuador. In this context, close collaboration between participating entities is a key factor to mitigate negative impacts and reduce response times to possible incidents in institutional services.
The exchange of good practices, the implementation of specialized tools and the definition of clear policies constitute essential elements in the comprehensive cyber protection strategy. In this sense, the active participation of CEDIA 's SOC-CSIRT in this type of events reinforces the institutional commitment to information security and consolidates its role as a key actor in the management of cyber threats at a national and international level.
