Socio-cultural innovation and care policies: construction and dissemination of sensory ethnographies based on creative practice, on diverse maternities in Southern Ecuador

General Objective: Within a period of 12 months, document and contribute to making visible and highlighting the maternal care practices of women belonging to ethnic diversity and/or in a situation of mobility located in the Ecuadorian Austro and in the city of Guayaquil. through the creation of a repository and digital environment composed of images, sounds, texts and textile art objects, which constitutes a community space for interaction to share care practices and experiences among diverse women-mothers.

Specific objectives:

  • Within 12 months, develop an accessible and intuitive digital platform that allows women-mothers of ethnic diversity and/or in situations of human mobility to know and share images, sounds, texts and textile art objects related to their practices and care experiences.
  • Within 12 months, document through 1 academic article, 100 photographs, 15 sound recordings, a short documentary film, 1 catalog book composed of at least 15 texts of situated writing and poetic research and at least 20 used textile pieces domestic, the practices, knowledge and care experiences of women-mothers, ensuring an inclusive and diverse representation of the different nationalities and indigenous and Afro-descendant peoples of Ecuador, as well as people in situations of human mobility living in the Ecuadorian Austro and Guayaquil.
  • Within 12 months, create 3 spaces for interaction and community support where women-mothers can share, comment and collaborate on their care practices and knowledge, through the construction of a co-creation textile blanket, promoting cultural exchange and strengthening support networks.
  • Within 12 months, carry out 2 training processes with educational institutions and communities of Azuay and Cañar, using multimedia resources in order to raise awareness about the realities and challenges faced by women-mothers of different nationalities and indigenous and Afro-descendant peoples of Ecuador. , and those in situations of human mobility.
  • Within 12 months, establish strategic inter-institutional cooperation alliances to guarantee the sustainability and continuous maintenance of the digital platform, ensuring its regular updating and the inclusion of new content and functionalities based on the needs and suggestions of the user community.
