Secretary of State for Education, Innovation Research SERI Research scholarship (research fellowship, PhD, postdoctoral) is available for postgraduate researchers in any discipline (possessing a master's degree is the minimum qualification required) who plan to come to Switzerland to conduct research or continue studies at the doctoral or postdoctoral level. Research scholarships are awarded at all Swiss cantonal universities, schools of applied sciences and the two federal institutes of technology, as well as at the four research institutes. Each year, the Swiss Confederation awards Government Excellence Scholarships to promote international exchange and research cooperation between Switzerland and more than 180 countries. The beneficiaries are selected by the body that grants them, the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS).
