Systemic design to rethink urban food systems in the Anthropocene: the cases of Cuenca and Quito

Status: Running

General Objective: Train at least 120 people, including Ecuadorian professionals and students, in systemic design methodologies so that they can apply them in the generation of policies, programs and projects related to food sovereignty.

Specific goal:

  • Promote collaborative work and the active participation of different actors with a
    transdisciplinary approach to solve complex problems that involve
    multiple actors, artifacts and levels of a system
  • Promote the creation of networks and alliances to promote joint initiatives that
    focus on local problems with a systemic design approach
  • Identify and analyze the main challenges and opportunities for food sovereignty
    in Latin America, and explore innovative and sustainable solutions.
