With the goal of consolidating a shared strategic vision for cybersecurity, technology directors from Ecuadorian universities participated in a workshop held in three cities: Quito, Guayaquil, and Cuenca. The initiative facilitated the alignment of institutional perspectives in the face of growing challenges in digital protection within the higher education system.

The event was promoted by CEDIA, with the support of Fortinet, Adistec and Value Added Distributor, strategic partners who contributed their experience in state-of-the-art cybersecurity solutions.

During the meetings, the key role of the SOC-CSIRT (Security Operations Center and Computer Incident Response Team) was analyzed, as a technical and strategic core to guarantee the operational resilience of universities in the face of increasingly complex threats.

In addition, best practices were shared and collaborative governance models in cybersecurity were discussed, reaffirming the importance of building a secure, interconnected and proactive ecosystem in the face of new risks in the digital environment.

The event highlighted the value of cooperation between academic institutions, the private sector, and technical bodies to anticipate vulnerabilities, protect critical infrastructure, and enhance response and recovery capabilities in the university setting.
