AVANTE Proposal No. 13 culminated successfully

With this CEDIA Avante Fund, researchers were trained on the fundamentals of gold nanoparticle biosynthesis.

AVANTE N° 13

A total of 25 participants from the Private Technical University of Loja and the San Francisco University of Quito successfully completed the AVANTE Proposal No. 13 financed by CEDIA , thus strengthening the academic ties between both institutions.

The main objective of the training was to instruct attendees in the theoretical and practical foundations of the biosynthesis of gold nanoparticles through the use of aqueous plant extracts. In addition, emphasis was placed on its characterization through UV-Visible spectroscopy, in order to promote the understanding and application of sustainable techniques in the design and analysis of nanotechnological materials, which have great potential in various areas of technological research and development. .

The training was carried out theoretically and practically, covering the following topics:

  1. Nanoscience, nanotechnology and synthesis of metal nanoparticles.
  2. Optical, chemical and physical properties of metal nanoparticles.
  3. Synthesis mechanisms (interaction of biomolecules with gold ions).
  4. Spectroscopic characterization.
  5. Technological applications.

This initiative reinforces the commitment of the participating universities to promote the scientific and technological advancement of the country, betting on innovative and sustainable techniques in the field of nanotechnology.
