eHealth successfully closed 2021
In 2021, the eHealth by CEDIA program expanded its reach by forming strategic alliances both nationally and internationally. These include: a Memorandum of Understanding with the Central American Network of Health Informatics (RECAINSA) to promote digital transformation in the region's health sector; participation in the 3rd RISAD Virtual Telemedicine Congress and coordination of the network's tele-education hub within the Ibero-American Digital Health Network; and significant growth by the ECHO Institute of the ECHO HUB – CEDIA, where our best practices were shared at Latin American conferences.
At the national level, the first Special Interest Group – SIG in Spanish has been carried out, on the topic of One Health, a joint effort of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Ecological Transition, the National Institute of Public Health Research – INSPI and the Phytosanitary Regulation and Control Agency – AGROCALIDAD.
Regarding Project ECHO, the Comprehensive Cancer Clinic, co-created with APRODSI and FUPEC, stands out, having treated more than 20 cancer cases. Additionally, 130 primary care physicians from the Ministry of Public Health nationwide have been involved. These physicians act as trainers, replicating the training provided in the project's teleclinics, which has increased the average number of participants per session.
