The University of Cuenca was the host venue for this edition.

From October 18 to 20, a total of 520 people, including exhibitors, researchers and the country's highest academic authorities, participated in the eleventh edition of the International Congress of Information and Communication Technologies – TICEC 2023. 350 of them attended in person and 170 connected virtually through the VENUE platform.

For this edition, the University of Cuenca was the host venue to develop the Congress and a series of parallel events to the TICEC. Activities that have also contributed to the Congress becoming an undisputed benchmark in the field of technology and innovation in Latin America.

The TICEC, which was born in 2013 with the mission of promoting a culture of science and knowledge exchange in Ecuador, has experienced notable growth over the years, attracting the attention of internationally renowned academics and professionals. In this edition, a total of 150 contributions were received, both in the technical and scientific fields, from 12 countries: Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Spain, France, Japan, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela.

This participation only highlights the growing relevance that the TICEC has achieved in the academic and scientific community at a global level.

Each article presented was subjected to a rigorous review process carried out by a Scientific Committee made up of 154 international reviewers from 32 countries, all with experience in the topics of the congress. The result: 31 articles were accepted in the scientific track and 13 in the technical track, with acceptance percentages of 25% and 33%, respectively.

In the area of publications, the contributions of the scientific track were compiled in a special volume of Communications in Computer and Information Science by Springer , a journal indexed by Scopus.

Regarding the technical track, for the third consecutive year, the RTE ESPOL has provided us with a special volume titled ICT and its impact on society , which is indexed in relevant databases both nationally and internationally.

The TICEC is not only a renowned event, but an example of collaboration and teamwork. Most of the articles presented are the result of collaboration between researchers from various universities, demonstrating that it is possible to join forces in pursuit of research and innovation.

Next year the TICEC will take place at the Private Technical University of Loja, with the firm commitment to offering a congress of academic excellence that will allow us to continue strengthening ties, sharing knowledge and moving together towards a more promising technological future.
