Treatment, use and recovery of organic solid waste

This new training program has a guarantee of 60 hours

In Ecuador, more than 50% of municipal organic waste corresponds to organic waste. In addition, one of the main economic activities is agro-industry and livestock that generates a considerable amount of organic waste from the harvest, post-harvest of crops, as well as manure and slurry from animal husbandry, among others.

The decomposition of organic waste exposed to the open sky or stored in sanitary landfills generates leachate and biogas that are released into the environment and contribute to problems of water and soil contamination and global warming due to the emission of greenhouse gases.

This course will address both scientifically and technically technologies used for the treatment, use and recovery of organic solid waste such as: static composting piles, dynamic composting piles, vermicomposting, digester bales and biopreparations.
