National Research and Development Agency This call for competition is developed within the framework of the agreement signed on November 19, 2002, between the National Commission for Scientific and Technological Research (CONICYT) and the European Organization for Astronomical Research in the Southern Hemisphere (ESO), to promote radio astronomy in Chile and develop the APEX (Atacama Pathfinder Experiment) project. Under this agreement and its successive amendments, 10% of the observation time at the APEX telescope has been guaranteed for Chile, so that it can be used by the national scientific community. The objective of this contest is to promote Astronomy research in the national scientific community, through the distribution of Chilean observation time at the APEX (Atacama Pathfinder Experiment) telescope.
