CEDIA participated in the ETH Ecuador Blockchain event

The meeting took place on May 10 at the University of Cuenca.

CEDIA was invited to participate in the Blockchain event organized by ETH Ecuador, held at the University of Cuenca. The event brought together blockchain technology experts who participated in different outstanding talks on Smart Contracts and topics around it such as Intellectual Property.

Sofía Gómez, Intellectual Property and Privacy analyst in the Intellectual Property Area of CEDIA , was in charge of giving the presentation Intellectual Property in the Digital Age: Creation and Contracts – Integrating Smart Contracts in Intellectual Property Management . During her speech, she explained how digitalization and emerging technologies, such as smart contracts, are transforming the way intellectual property rights are managed.

The talk highlighted the importance of adapting legal frameworks and management practices to new technological realities.

The ETH Ecuador event took place at the University of Cuenca and had the participation of academics, professionals and students interested in the development and application of blockchain technology. The invitation to CEDIA to participate in this event highlights the Corporation's role in the promotion and development of research and technological innovation in Ecuador.
