Characterization of cough caused by COVID-19 in patients with a positive diagnosis

General Objective: Characterize the cough caused by COVID19 in patients with a positive diagnosis, using Artificial Intelligence and Digital Signal Processing techniques, in order to contribute scientifically to the identification of the disease and timely treatment, as well as to the social economy by the time of crisis in the country.

Specific objectives

  • Define the structure of the web application, as well as the information and metadata that will be required.
  • Implement the web application, for the reception of digital signals based on the collection of cough data.
  • Separate cough signals from external noises, by means of a pattern recognition system.
  • Filter and normalize cough signals to isolate unwanted sounds, using adaptive filtering.
  • Analyze the cough signal caused by COVID-19, with signal analysis in time and frequency, using machine learning tools.
