Colonization of the microbiome and detection of SARS-CoV-2 in the new Quito Metro system

General Objective: Analyze the microbiome and its colonization process in the new Quito Metro system and relate it to the detection of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Specific objectives

  • To quantify the composition of the bacterial and viral microbiome and its colonization process during the first six months of use of the Quito Metro system.
  • To determine the presence of putative virulence and antimicrobial resistance genes in the bacterial metagenome.
  • Determine the presence of virulence genes from five bacterial genera.
  • Evaluate the presence of SARS-COV2 in the environment of the Quito Metro system.
