Definition of the conservation states of the tropical dry forest. Towards an adaptive management approach

General Objective: Establish a validated methodology for the generation of state-transition models of the dry forest at the Ecuadorian level as a tool for planning management, monitoring and restoration actions of this ecosystem.

Specific objectives

  • Define and validate the state-transition models for the different types of dry forest along Ecuador.
  • Define and validate a proposal of indicators for the field identification of the conservation states described in the state-transition model.
  • Generate a space for feedback and systematization of local initiatives that use transition state models for decision-making.
