Technology over the years has been venturing into various fields, generating a positive impact both for the optimization of times and processes, as well as on the well-being of human beings. The health area has not been excluded from this influence and today, there are various uses of technology in this field: digital medical records, assistance in the diagnosis, treatment and recovery of the patient through devices or applications, virtual medical consultations, process automation, among others; They are part of the advances that have been generated in medical care through the use of IT.

“eHealth by CEDIA , a network that condenses all the efforts that the corporation has developed for several years on this topic, contemplating IDi projects, the ECHO Project, the teleasistencia.ec platform and our most recent initiative: the “Special Interest Groups – SIG” promoted together with our peer networks: (RENATA) from Colombia, (CUDI) from Mexico, (RNP) from Brazil and (REUNA) from Chile; which will allow the formation of specialized teams of human talent focused on specific topics for the dissemination of science, findings and cutting-edge information in health matters.

On July 22, the Second Edition of the Telehealth Virtual Breakfast, the official launch event of the eHealth by CEDIA Network, was held virtually. For said event, important regional and national actors attended: from the Ministry of Public Health, Dr. Rodrigo Hernandez, Coordinator of Strategic Development; of the Ecuadorian Medical Federation, we have the pleasant presence of Dr. Santiago Carrasco, President and also specialist of our Hypertension teleclinic in the ECHO Project; We were also accompanied by strategic allies such as Diego Jimbo, Coordinator of the Agreement Against Cancer and FUPEC with whom we developed the Comprehensive Cancer Teleclinic; Andrea Zurawski from the ECHO Institute from Santa Fé, New Mexico, who was also part of the event, told us about the global reach of the ECHO project and the response that has been undertaken to COVID 19. In addition to the valuable presence of representatives of our networks RUTE peers in Latin America, including doctors Renato Athias and Clayton Coelho, coordinators of the Indigenous Health GIS in Brazil, who encouraged national researchers to create their GIS on the topics of choice, for which CEDIA within Soon, it will indicate the guidelines for action through its communication channels.
