CEDIAStrategic Alignment: Sustainable Development Goals
The Ecuadorian Corporation for the Development of Research and Academia – CEDIA joins the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in accordance with the United Nations Development Programme – UNDP , global goals undertaken in 2015 with the purpose of building together an innovative, competitive and sustainable country.
This project seeks to engage business leaders in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations' 2030 Agenda, aligning them with the responsibilities inherent in their businesses, through an action plan to eradicate poverty, achieve sustained economic growth, combat climate change, and promote peaceful societies. All of this is made possible through a global commitment. (Ecuador 2030, 2019)
The following are the Sustainable Development Goals that CEDIA aligns with:

With the aim of continuing the actions undertaken to improve the quality of life of all people, world leaders have defined an ambitious long-term program to increase the well-being of their people with the motto that no one is left behind and to ensure a sustainable coexistence with the environment.
The Ecuadorian Corporation for the Development of Research and Academia, from its very conception, is constituted as a private non-profit organization whose superior purpose lies in collaborative work to generate and enhance research networks at the national and international levels, for the benefit of society.
CEDIA 's responsibility to present and future society means that our organization strives to efficiently manage the technological resources required by our members for their daily academic activities in order to allocate more economic resources to obtaining funds for scientific research, technological development and innovation and technology transfer.
In this regard, CEDIA 's Corporate Social Responsibility strategy includes a series of general short and long-term objectives:
- To act responsibly and ethically in all our day-to-day work activities, and to ensure that our employees, clients, and suppliers perceive a space of trust within and outside our organization.
- To contribute significantly to the Ecuadorian scientific community through R&D&I programs that include basic funding across all branches of knowledge, with proper monitoring, follow-up, and implementation, as well as the protection of results with transfer potential available to society.
*Our "Working Groups" programs and, since the first call for proposals for the "CEPRA" program, the winning projects incorporate the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) defined by the United Nations. - To position the Ecuadorian Academy as a key player in the National and Regional Innovation Ecosystem, linking the demand of the productive sector with the academic offer generated by our members; in this way, our CSR fulfills the transfer of research results towards the constant needs of society.
- Promote the principles: “Collaborative Network Work” and Economies of Scale, principles that allow for the effective acquisition of technologies and favorable negotiating power for our members, optimizing the resources available for Science, Technology and Innovation.
- Reducing the environmental impacts of our day-to-day operations through advanced technology.
- Safeguarding the safety of CEDIA employees through teleworking despite national provisions and traffic light regulations during the global COVID-19 pandemic.
- Reporting: With the implementation of CEDIA's Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy, an annual report will be prepared that will include the relationship of the participation of each of our members with the programs, calls for proposals and benefits and their social impact (SDGs)
