Evaluation of knowledge about diet, exercise, social networks and development of prototypes for taking medication and monitoring vital signs aimed at the elderly through the integration and use of new information and communication technologies, applied to people over 65 years of age

General Objective: Evaluation of the improvement of the functionality of the elderly through the integration and use of new information and communication technologies, applied to people over 65 years of age.

Specific objectives:

  • Study the current state of research regarding Ambient Assisted Living for older adults and the current technological solutions developed.
  • Evaluate the impact of the situation of the elderly and their interpersonal relationships (family and friends) when using technological tools.
  • Develop a technological solution to improve the health of the elderly through the monitoring of drug intake, heart rate and falls.
  • Deploy software platforms that contribute positively to the well-being and lifestyle of the elderly and evaluate their impact.
  • Generate a database from the constant monitoring of activity in social networks, physiological variables, correct medication intake, and relate it to the data of the patients' clinical history.
  • Develop a solution that contributes to the physical safety of the elderly and evaluate its impact.
